Math Challenges
With our ever-changing math world, it is easy to see why challenges occur in our classroom environments. We are faced with students that are trailing behind the standards' norms.
This mini-course was designed to assist educators working with children of all ages in the area of mathematics.
If one thinks back to his/her college times, one realizes that the training may or may not have set us up for the real-world component of the "hidden curriculum" in school systems.
This "hidden curriculum" focus in this course is on Math Fear and Anxiety. The term "hidden" generalizes the concepts and components that are overlooked, but crucial in the math world.
Did you ever wonder why we have students day after day in our math classrooms reluctant about the subject area? Why they avoid the work, and are often are honest to communicate that they just do not get it? Other times students keep their math challenges to themselves and develop a low self-concept and avoid the subject as if it does not exist.

Taking The Fear Out Of Math
As educators, we understand students' needs and are available to help them through difficult times. At the same time, we do not have all the answers before us due to our training. Math can be an overwhelming subject for some due to its complex nature.
